This Week on Ron Bennington Interviews: 04/24/11

This week Ron Bennington Interviews an incredible lineup full of great soul musicians and spectacular soul music.

First, Ron sits down with the legendary Ben E. King, who is best known for performing one of the most well-known songs in Rock and Roll history– Stand By Me.  He also sang lead with the Drifters performing a long list of timeless hits.  Ben stopped by to talk with Ron about music, his career, and his new album, Heart and Soul.

The incredible Bill Withers wrote performed another American Rock/Soul anthem– Lean on Me, as well as countless others hits like Ain’t no Sunshine, Just the Two of Us, Grandma’s Hands and Lovely Day.  He came in to talk with Ron about Still Bill, an incredible documentary about his life.

If there is a word for someone who is bigger than a legend, its Smokey Robinson.  He created an unending string of hits with the Miracles and as a solo artist.  Songs like Tears of a Clown, Tracks of My Tears, and Being with You only scratch the surface.  In this incredible interview, he and Ron talk about music, creativity and his latest album, Time Flies When Your Having Fun.

Finally Ron sits down with Sam Moore, one half of the soul vocal duo Sam & Dave.  He is one of the top 100 greatest singers of the Rock and Roll Era according to Rolling Stone Magazine.  Their biggest hit– Soul Man– is one of the timeless pieces of Americana and a tremendous influence on pop culture.  He came in to talk about his newest album– a collection of duets with other great musicians– Overnight Sensational.
